ARCHITECTURE CAPTAINCY - LARMOR BADEN
The municipality of the commune of Larmor-Baden in Morbihan, had the will to build a new captaincy on the port. This type of project involves many things such as the littoral law, a very demanding PLU and a relevant landscape integration. For this project I chose to take inspiration from the architectural biomorphism movement of which Santiago Calatrava is one of its greatest representatives.

For a seafront building of 400m2, its integration into the landscape is essential. For this project with its location at the end of the platform, the structure resembles the shapes of a flying bird a little like the Gare de Lyon Calatrava. The idea is to give the impression that it floats in the air with its soft shapes and hard materials. The unstained windows reflect the environment that amplifies these illusion of floating.

Its glazed passageway like that of a liner offers a magnificent view of the Gavrinis, Long and Berder Islands. Its concrete and metal structure seems to be an extension of the wharf. The soft forms of the structure mixed with the hardness of the concrete and the steel are a paradox which offers a real poetry to the structure.
